BNPB: flooding in Jakarta Kills 14 people



 BNPB says up to Saturday (19/1/2013) 7: 00 PM, the victim died due to floods in Jakarta to 14 persons.

There are two additional victims of today as many as 12 people, ' says head of Data, information, and communication BNPB Dwiyatno (Captain) Purwo
Nugroho in his written remarks in Jakarta, Saturday.

Dwiyatno (Captain) Purwo Nugroho said, two of the last victim found was Karno, Tebet, in South Jakarta; and the victim was found dead in the basement of the UOB Plaza Jalan MH Thamrin.

Karno was found dead by rescuers on the banks of Ciliwung, Bukit Duri, Tebet, South Jakarta, or rather around a small Malay Village Bridge, Friday (18/1/2013). In the meantime, the victim in the building UOB found on Saturday morning.

Sutopo said of 14 deaths, six people died of electricity, stung four people and sick, because of age two children one man drifted into the ravine and one person stuck in the basement of the building.

He said 14 deaths the nine people in west jakarta two people in south jakarta one person in east jakarta one person in north jakarta and one in central jakarta.

Dwiyatno (Captain) said, up to now there are still some areas that are submerged in floods in Jakarta. In fact, according to him the Ciliwung debit also increased since yesterday afternoon as a result of submissions of Depok. 

Until Saturday (19/1/2013) morning Dwiyatno (Captain), said that the floods that hit the area in Pluit, North Jakarta, have not subsided. Water levels in the region according to him more than 1.5 metres.
